DEL SOL CHAMBERFEST 2017
ChamberFest is an exciting, intensive weekend chamber music workshop for adult non-professional string players. Held in the intimate setting of an Ashbury Heights residence in San Francisco, this dynamic program features two days of hands-on coaching by the Del Sol String Quartet.
Ensembles will receive two days of coaching on their choice of repertoire (plus a short work by our resident composer) with members of the Del Sol Quartet. (Suggestions will be made for other short contemporary works to explore during the weekend.) In addition to the extensive coaching, participants will enjoy great food & drink, an intimate concert by Del Sol, and two intriguing, pragmatic workshops. (Workshops have included topics on: ensemble, rhythm, intonation, the physical aspects of playing , contemporary repertoire and more.)

Adult Chamber Music at Crowden Music Center
Crowden’s Adult Chamber Music program is designed for adult musicians who would like to play in a small group with others of comparable experience and ability! Compatible participants are placed in chamber groups according to instrumentation, playing level, musical interests, and schedule availability. Each group meets for eight 90-minute coached rehearsals. Each session culminates in an informal but mandatory recital. String, wind, and piano players are encouraged to participate. Pre-formed groups are welcome to apply. Payment of the tuition fee covers the cost of participation in a single chamber group. Participants may register multiple times for the same session, if they wish to participate in multiple groups. Fall, winter, spring, and summer sessions are available!

Audition by appointment; Crowden will contact prospective students after receipt of registration form.
This five-day intensive workshop features daily coached rehearsals, as well as daily master classes and independent rehearsal time.
Each participant plays in two ensembles, delving into chamber music’s most beloved pieces. Crowden’s renowned chamber music faculty share their passion and expertise as they guide students through a deepened development of ensemble playing skills and music appreciation, culminating in a concert for family and friends on the workshop’s final day.
Group placement is based on audition. Pre-formed groups are welcome and encouraged to apply.

Adult Chamber Music Program at Community Music Center
Whether you are an advanced beginner or an accomplished amateur musician, CMC’s chamber music program offers an opportunity to develop your musicianship and technique as well as the chance to play with others. Groups are composed of two to five students of compatible levels. Advanced beginners and intermediate students will focus on developing basic ensemble skills, intonation, tone quality, and rhythmic accuracy. Advanced students will study important aspects of ensemble playing, including interpretation and performance techniques.
Groups meet at CMC’s Mission and Richmond District Branches.

Woodwind Ensemble at Community Music Center
The Woodwind Ensemble provides the opportunity for advanced beginners and intermediate level woodwind players to participate in the togetherness of ensemble playing. Experience, feel and become part of the co-operative balance and blend of tone and rhythm that is essential to collective music making.
This group meets at CMC’s Richmond District Branch.

CHAMBER MUSICIANS OF NORTHERN CALIFORNIA
CMNC is a nonprofit organization which provides opportunities for musicians to play and enjoy chamber music through workshops which include coaching, master classes and performance opportunities.
We hold three weekend workshops each year for intermediate to advanced string, woodwind, and piano players. Workshops take place at colleges and universities in the San Francisco Bay area. CMNC members and non-members are welcome to participate either as individuals or as members of pre-formed groups.
The CMNC website also provides networking and resources for Bay Area chamber musicians.
