One of the oldest continuing community choirs in the western United States, the San Francisco Bach Choir has been an important part of the Bay Area’s cultural life for over 80 years..
SFBC offers dedicated singers the opportunity to study and perform both Early Music and the diverse repertoire of great works from other eras and genres. We use historically informed performance practice, and perform with world-class professional instrumentalists and soloists, both period and modern. Our volunteer singing membership is drawn from the Bay Area’s large community of trained, non-professional musicians. Our seventy-voice choir holds auditions periodically throughout the year. We are looking for experienced choral singers with good musical skills and an enthusiasm for participating in an active and dynamic musical organization.

The Cantabile Choir at Community Music Center
Calling all experienced, classical singers! We’ve just formed a new and dynamic classical choir this year at Community Music Center. We work on phrasing, pronunciation, tuning, dynamics, and stylistic nuances of four-part choral repertoire from around the world — from Renaissance to Contemporary musical styles. The instructor, Martha Rodríguez-Salazar, has an extensive background as a choral singer and director in Mexico City and San Francisco. There will be at least one concert at the end of each quarter.
This group meets at CMC’s Mission District Branch.
